Extended Mexican localization

Throughout this blog we will talk about the extended Mexican localization, we will answer all your questions on the subject, such as: What is a localization in Odoo? What is the Mexican localization? Why should you use the extended Mexican localization?

What is a localization in Odoo?

Odoo handles a term called "Fiscal localization" and refers to those modules that allow Odoo to comply with the mandatory guidelines established by the tax authority of a country. In the case of Mexico, the fiscal authority is the SAT.

An important point is that localizations only work on Odoo Enterprise.

The magic happens in the accounting module of Odoo, which has a default configuration that contains:

  • A chart of accounts defined by the tax body.

  • The tax catalog with its percentages.

  • Tax positions.

  • Legal declarations.

  • Flows of some features of Odoo that are affected by localization:

  1. Specific certificates.

  2. Electronic billing.

We leave you with our webinar on the Mexican localization in Odoo, where we present the features and highlights.

What is the Mexican Localization?

The Mexican localization or also known as OML (Odoo Mexico Localization) are the modules that allow Odoo to comply with the guidelines established by the SAT.

As of 2019, the Odoo company maintains the Mexican localization, its improvements and support, this applies to the current version of Odoo and 2 previous versions, that is, V15, V14 and V13 of Odoo Enterprise.

The native settings and functionalities of the Mexican localization are:

1.1 Adjustment and configuration of taxes.

1.1.1 General purchase taxes.

1.1.4 Sales taxes.

1.1.5 IEPS taxes, among others.

3. The delivery of obligatory reports (XML Reports - SAT) that the SAT requests monthly or periodically).

3.2 Chart of accounts.
